About
The Philippine Suzuki Association (PSA) National Graduation Concert is a concert to celebrate and recognize all Suzuki students in violin, piano, cello and guitar who have finished a book level in a particular year. It is a collaborative performance where the students from a particular book level come together and perform as one on stage. It is a celebration of the student’s achievement and perseverance, as well as of the unceasing support of their parents and the hard work of their teachers. The program will be held at GSIS Theater on March 17, 2024.
Requirements
- The student must be a paid-up member of the Philippine Suzuki Association until April 2024.
- The student must be studying under an accredited PSA Suzuki Teacher.
- The student must have passed his/her book examination of a Suzuki Book between January 2023 and December 2023.
- The student must register to join the National Graduation Concert 2024
FEES
Individual Student - P1,800
Students with one or more siblings also graduating - P1,500 each
Individual Students graduating in more than one book in the same instrument - P1,800
Students graduating in two instruments – P1,500 each

Before the recital
For general participants
- Make sure your PSA membership is active. Review your registered email inbox for the Paypal confirmation email of your membership. If you need to renew your membership, click here
- Register for the National Graduation Concert 2024. Deadline of registration is February 23, 2024.
Needed for registration:
a. 2x2 photo of the student (photo to be used for the souvenir program)
b. Book Graduation evaluation form (ask your teacher for a copy) - Take note of the following TENTATIVE rehearsal schedule:
a. VIOLIN, CELLO, and PIANO Students
- March 3, 2024 at 1:30 - 4:30 PM in Adventist University of the Philippines, Puting Kahoy, Silang, Cavite - near Nuvali - (Music Department, Pilar Hall).
- March 10, 2024 at 1:30 - 4:30 PM in St. Scholastica’s College, Leon Guinto St., Malate, Manila (Rehearsal Hall).
b. GUITAR Students
- March 10, 2024 at 3:00 - 4:00 PM in St. Scholastica's College, Leon Guinto St., Malate, Manila (Room 111). - Practice your recital pieces. Please see the list of prescribed pieces for general participants below+
- For book 2 and above violin and book 4 cello students, you will be performing an orchestra piece as the finale. Please get a copy of your pieces here. Your teacher will assign your part.
*Kindly have your lunch taken before coming into rehearsal.
For virtual participants
Students from abroad and from the Visayas and Mindanao areas will be joining through a virtual performance.

- Record your video and audio simultaneously. You may record on two separate devices (for the audio and video) or you may extract the audio from your video recording. Please make sure to follow the recording guidelines.
- Submit your video and audio on or before February 23, 2024. Please click the link to upload your AUDIO and VIDEO of your recording.

Recording your Audio File
Preparing your instrument
- For violin, cello, and guitar, tune your instruments to A=440Hz
Equipment for recording your audio
- Smartphone, Iphones and Ipads
- Set your phone to airplane mode to avoid notification interruptions
- Other quality audio recorder
- Suggested optimal distance of your microphone (if you have one) from your instrument
- Violin, Cello, and Guitar - 6-7 inches away from the microphone
- Earphones (do not use Bluetooth earphones).
When and where to record your audio
- Record in a quiet place, preferably in a room with little or no echo.
- Close all doors to prevent unnecessary noise.
- Turn off electric fans and air conditioning when possible.
How should your audio recording be
- Audio must sound clear
- No unnecessary noises should be heard
- Pre-recorded audio with click track must NOT be heard in the recording
- Please follow the pre-recorded click track as closely as possible
- Performance must be well practiced and prepared
Filming your Video file
Preparing your instrument
- For piano students, music racks should be put down and free of any pieces/objects
- Get your equipment ready (foot stool, foot rest, endpin, etc.)
What to wear in your video
- Semi-formal attire should be worn
- White Dressy blouse for girls, White polo for boys
- Black Skirt/Pants/Slacks
- White/Black Dress
- Hair must be tied and away from the face: face must be visible
Equipment for recording your video
- Smartphone, Iphones and Ipads
- Using the rear-camera is recommended; DO NOT use selfie mode
- Set your phone to airplane mode to avoid notification interruptions
- It is recommended to record in 720p, 30fps
- Other quality video recorder/camera
- Tripod or any stand to keep your device stable
When and where to record your video:
- Record in a neat and tidy, uncluttered area
- Pay attention to your background: keep it plain
- Room must be well-lit
- Make sure the area is free from passersby
How should your video recording be:
- Orientation should be in LANDSCAPE
- Observe proper posture
- Piano, Cello, and Guitar students must sit tall.
- Violin students must stand tall.
- No bowing necessary.
- Place earphones on the left ear so it will not be visible in the video.
