Noel Martin
Prof. Noel Martin, violinist, is an active performer, teacher, and orchestral coach in Asia, the US, and Central America. He has been Artist in Residence at ConsortMusik in Panama, Associate Concertmaster of the Philippine Philharmonic, has performed and recorded with Mercury Chamber Orchestra over 20 years, has appeared in concerts as soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster, or orchestral musician with many modern and period ensembles and orchestras in Asia as well as the Americas working under leading directors, and has taught and performed throughout Asia including Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei, as well as in the US, and Panama. He has taught at all levels in the US, and in the Philippines he has taught in numerous outreach programs for at-risk children, directed youth orchestra programs, taught at universities at the undergraduate and graduate level both applied music as well as pedagogy, coached professionals, performed evaluations, and done workshops, masterclasses, festivals, sectional coaching, and teacher training, for a variety of programs. He currently teaches violin at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Santo Tomas. His private students have been finalists at NAMCYA and won all prizes including first prize.
