Amber Loraine O. Murillo - Dela Torre
AMBER LORAINE O. MURILLO - DELA TORRE is a violinist and pianist currently based in Silang, Cavite. As a Suzuki kid who started with Mr. Homer Ilao, she enjoyed joining National camps and Suzuki Conventions in the Philippines and abroad. Deciding to pursue music as a profession, she entered St. Paul University Manila as a scholar of Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) and Sr. Maria Sta. Ana Anunciata, SPC. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance in 2015 under the tutelage of Prof. Proseso Yusi. In November of the same year, she joined the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) and received the award Honorable Mention for Strings Category C under the guidance of Prof. Gina Medina-Perez. She pursued her post graduate studies at Ithaca College, New York in 2019. Studying with Prof. Calvin Wiersma and Prof. Carrie Reuning-Hummel, she finished with the degree Masters in Suzuki Pedagogy and String Performance last May 2021.
She actively serves the Adventist Church and has founded a number of groups including: AIIAS orchestra, Artistry for Ministry Youth Ensemble, AIIAS Strings Ensemble, New York Filipino SDA Violin Ensemble, and Oxon Hill Harmonics. A part of the Suzuki Teacher Training program since 2008, she has attended trainings from Prof. Kyung Ik Hwang, Prof. Cheoul Woong Jeong, Dr. Lan Ku Chen, Mr. Martin Ruettiman, Christophe Bossuat, and Kirsten Marshall. Since returning home to the Philippines, she has been focusing on her studio and enjoying married life.
